In a recent health advisory that could change our perspective on oral hygiene, Harvard University experts have revealed that following a simple daily dental care routine not only protects gum health but also keeps people safe from several dangerous and deadly diseases.

According to Harvard health experts, they emphasize that maintaining oral health is not just about preventing gum disease; it also helps reduce the risk of developing diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, strokes, and dementia.

The most common type of gum disease is known as gingivitis, which occurs due to the buildup of bacteria on the teeth. The number of bacteria in the mouth doubles within 4 to 5 hours.

If left untreated, gingivitis can cause redness, swelling, bleeding, and in advanced stages, it can lead to tooth loss.

Harvard experts state that prevention is the best approach, as the daily care of teeth to remove bacteria costs significantly less than medical treatments.
